How to make money with iPhone apps

Make money on iPhone

I don't know if you believe it or not, but there are few apps that allows you to earn cash, vouchers and even apps on your iPhone. I will start with the programs that worked for me in the past, and I will finish with the ones that I have not tried yet.

FreeMyApps allows you to install new apps, and get rewarded for it. Usually, you just need to open the new installed app for 1-2 minutes, and you get rewarded. You get paid via Amazon Gift Card, iTunes Gift Card, Postagram Gift Card, Groupon Gift Card, Fandango Bucks Gift Card. You can also earn points by referring your friends.

FeaturePoint is a program that resemble FreeMyApps. You have to install apps in order to get points. Once you get over 500 featurepoints, you can convert them to popular paid apps, Amazon money, Paypal money or iTunes credit. There is also a special prize if you get 197400 points: a $329 iPad mini 16GB WiFi. My personal target on this service is a $50 gift card (30000 points).

InconZoomer is an app that allows you to upload your pics on the site, and earn credits when it's sold. You can later convert the credit to cash, charity or Paypal money.

Survey.com is a service that allows you to earn cash by completing surveys. It works for areas all over the world, but you'll get better offers if you live inside the US. I earn some cash with this app, but nothing special. Search for it on Apple Store.

Mobilerewards.net this app is rather new. It allows you to earn credits on your iPhone by completing offers, tasks, or watching videos. When you reach 1000 credits, you can turn them into cash or rewards.

Conclusions If you have free time on your hands and you want to convert it into cash, you should try these apps and services.

How to make iPhone 4 faster

Ever since I have updated to iOS 5, my iPhone 4 is very slow. I researched some blogs and I found out that the new iOS works better with the new hardware of iPhone 4s. On the old iPhone 4 the user experiences massive performance losses and reliability issues. It seems that the iOS 5 has more features that consumes too much memory and CPU resources and the old iPhones just can't keep up with it.

Here are the problems that I've encountered so far:
  • massive lag when I'm scrolling the home screen
  • Safari is considerably slower than before
  • the apps starts really slow
  • longer load time for apps (10-12 seconds)
  • overall delay and stuttering
  • the battery life drains quicker than ever
  • the keyboard has an annoying delay
  • apps crashes or do not start at all

How to make iPhone 4 faster

Here is my solution to getting your iPhone's performance as high as possible. You need to understand that there are too many features for iPhone 4's CPU and memory to handle. That's why you need to disable some of those features that you don't use.

Disable Notifications: Every iPhone app that is sending you notifications is slowing down your phone. Just go to "Settings\Notifications", select "Manually" and disable the notifications for the app you're not using. I have only 3-4 apps there (as you can see in the image above).

Disable Location Services: Let's face it. You don't need GPS all the time, so there is no need to keep it enabled. Go to "Settings\Location Services" and disable it. If you don't want to do this, you can at least disable it for every map except maps app and important iPhone apps like dropbox (if you are using it).

Disable Indexing: This feature keeps an index of every contact, app, music, mail and data on your iPhone. Naturally, this index file is draining a lot of RAM memory. If you don't use this feature that often, you should disable it from "Settings\General\Spotlight & Search". You'll see the difference after you disable it and restart your phone.

Disable iCloud: This feature is making your iPhone 4 slow, so at least disable it for few hours and see how your iPhone reacts to it.

Disable iMessage:This app also uses lots of RAM. In order to make your iPhone 4 faster go to "Settings\Messages" and disable it.

Disable WiFi:You should disable this function when you are not using it or if you are on 3G. This is better for security purposes as well. Remember not to connect on unknown WiFi networks because you may encounter data stealing. Keep your iPhone safe.

I hope these quick tips will make your iPhone 4 faster.

Top 10 iPhone Apps in 2012

This is my own list, so endure my picks. I'm not into iPhone games that much, so you won't find them in this list. Choosing the top 10 iPhone apps was pretty hard, but I think you'll love this list:

Top 10 iPhone Apps in 2012

1. Facebook

Well, what can I say. Facebook is so big these days that it's almost impossible to place it anywhere else but 1st place. I'm using it as mail, as photo and video sharing, as messenger. Everybody has a place on Facebook, and there is a saying where I live: If you don't have Facebook, you don't exist!

2. Opera Mini

I'm not to found of iPhone's native browser. Maybe because I used Opera Mobile before I got my first iPhone. I love the way you can move between tabs, it's quick and it's fast. Enough reasons for it to be second in my list.

3. Camera+

I don't like iPhone's original Camera app. So few options, it's difficult capture artistic images. That's why I think Camera+ is the best camera app for iPhone 4. You can control exposure, stabilizer and you have tons of picture effects. Capture images like a Pro!

4. DropBox

Don't get me wrong, I love iCloud. But I don't own a Mac, so Dropbox is my main source of file sharing between my laptops and my phones. Great for documents, photos, music.

5. EC Player

I'm not sure if you are aware of this, but you can't watch XVid movies on your iPhone. EC Player allows you to do that. So, just upload movies from iTunes in your EC Player folder (with subs) and watch your favorite movies or tv episodes while you are outdoors. Great software!

6. Social Apps

Well, you can access these websites directly from Safari or Opera, but the experience it's more interesting if you do it with their own apps. So, here is a print-screen taken from my Socialize Folder. Search them in Apple Store. My favs order: Alien Blue, Digg, Pinterest, StumbleUpon

7. IM+

I love this app because it allows me to connect multiple chat accounts: yahoo, skype and facebook. It's a free alternative to SMS and SMS.

8. iPDF READERA
iPDF is a free app that allows me to upload my favorite books via iTunes and read them on my iPhone. It also has a nice search feature. Try it!

9. Action Movie

No comment on this one. It's a fun app that will amaze your friends. It works great for me when we party!

10. IMDB App
I'm a big movie fan, so you can imagine how much I'm into this app. It allows me to see new trailers, movie and actor info with a nice interface.

See how you can make your iPhone 4 faster.

iPhone 6 rumours: what you need to know

iPhone 5 was recently released, and many say that it's the best smartphone of 2012. However not everyone is happy with this new device, and they are already looking to the future of Apple to see what will come next in iPhone saga. Rumors have recently been coming through, thick and fast, surrounding the upcoming iPhone 6, as to how Apple will have changed the smartphone this time around. This article contains recent rumors from trusted sources about how the iPhone 6 could take shape.

1: iPhone 6: new design
There are some websites that reported that a trusted contact understands that the iPhone 6 will be of a different form, said to help solve the antenna issues the iPhone 4 has. However there have been leaked designs and comments made by Apple staff that suggests the aesthetic change for the iPhone 6 will be a larger display and smaller bezel. The same websites has once again commented that they believe the iPhone 6 could feature no home button, and sport a 12-megapixel camera.

2: iPhone 6: new processor and better Qualcomm chips
It was reported that the iPhone would include a chipset that would allow it to compete with the best Smartphones available which run versions of Google Android OS, such as Samsung Galaxy 4 or HTC One X. It is rumored they will scrap the actual processor of iPhone 5 with a 2GHz quad-core processor. This would put the phone in line with other smart phone with this power such as the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Nokia Lumia 920

3: iPhone 6 screens made by Toshiba
Finally, Nikkei Business Daily announced that Toshiba had been tasked to build a new factory in Ishikawa that will be working hand in hand with Apple to produce high-res LCD panels for the upcoming ranges of iPhone.

The next generation of iPhone

Recent rumours have revealed that the new iPhone will come fully equipped with the next generation of mobile operating software, iOS 5.

The all-new operating system iOS 5 will apparently be very similar to that of the dashboard widgets found on the Apple desktop computers. The main benefit of this feature is that users of the iPhone 5 will be able to view information on the phone’s handset without even unlocking the device, such as the current and foreseeable weather or various calendar entries.

Other improvements to the handsets technology includes better voice control through utilising an improved service. This could mean that voice control could be activated remotely simply by processing audio.

Notifications have also been revamped, which in turn boasts better displays of incoming notifications, complete with a log that is said to better the system dramatically.

Some things will however remain the same and Google Maps is said to remain intact and is staying as the iPhone’s main default mapping solution. The front facing camera will also be housed in the iPhone 5, this is great news for those that enjoy making conference calls or alternatively calls to friends on applications such as Skype.

One of the major improvements is said to be the A5 processor, which is in fact the same processor offered by the iPad 2.

The look of the new iPhone as ever is standard of all Apple products and will have been beautifully designed. Once again the iPhone 5 will be available in either white or black. The black is more than likely the first colour to be released and as with the iPhone 4, a waiting list is to be expected!

Facebook for iPhone

In the last half a decade, the social networking site Facebook has moved from a small site for friends at university in America, to a global sensation with over 300 million users. The unstoppable rise of Facebook has been documented in an Oscar winning film, the Social Network, and the website seems to have permeated every aspect of our lives.

In the last few years mobile phones have become a large part of the Facebook revolution, with smartphones everywhere needing to have social networking applications if they want to attract young consumer. Apple were one of the first companies to get in on the act, putting a Facebook app on their iPhone. This proved a very popular decision and Facebook have been regularly updating their iPhone application so that iPhone 4 users get their best ideas as fast as possible.

Now, there is a new version of the massively popular app out for your iPhone as Facebook 3.4 has been released for you to download onto your handsets. There are several new features on the latest Facebook app for iPhone 4, the first being a preview map of Facebook Places. This allows you to click on any listed place on your phone and Facebook will show you any details on that place, including deals if it happens to be a shop or restaurant. Facebook Places also allows you to comment on places and let other friends know where you are.

Another new feature allows you to check in at events which you have already said you will attend. This is a good time saving feature that is a big help for huge events where a lot of guests are expected to attend. The most useful new feature though is probably the fact you can now edit your friend lists from your phone, this means if someone is annoying you need not wait until you get home to delete them.
